About this Art:

The Sheepeater tribe of the Wyoming Shoshonis were expert at building bows from the full-curl horns of the Bighorn Sheep. The process was time-consuming, often taking several weeks, but the bows were beautifully made and very strong and they were highly sought-after by many tribes. A good horn bow was worth ten fine horses in trade, as depicted in this painting.
