About this Art:

In Daniel, chapters 5-6, we read the story of Daniel: King Darius of the Old Testament decreed a law that no man should pray or else be killed by being thrown into a den of lions. Daniel, a man of God, but also one of the King's men, continued to pray three times a day. When discovered, Daniel was taken to the King and the punishment was meted. Daniel spent a night in the Lion's Den, but received not a scratch. Said he, "My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt."
