About this Art:
At the end of another long, cold winter in Wyoming (where I live), I always feel a little surge of joy in my heart when I see my first robin - usually toward the end of March. There's still snow on the ground but there are also bare patches of earth and old dead grass where the birds can get a worm or a bug. The plump red-breasted robins are really the first sure sign that spring has come to the high country and we may look forward with sure anticipation to warmer and nicer weather for the next 7 months. It just perks everybody up, just as it does for this young frontier mother and her children after a long, cold prairie winter. Surely, these robins bring a message of joy to their hearts.
