About this Art:
A risky situation to put himself in, this cowboy takes the chance on rescuing this bull elk that has caught his antlers in a barbed wire fence. The horses are very nervous being that close to a dangerous wild animal. The cowboy is taking a chance because his horse, as frightened as he may be, may bolt or buck, and the elk, if he is set free, which the cowboy is trying to do with wire cutters, could charge him or his horse or run away. But nobody knows for sure what the elk will do, so it’s a risky deal. Elk sometimes get their horns tangled in barbed wire fences trying to rake their horns on something to sharpen the horns or scrape/rake their horns on things cause it’s something they want to do. Just a natural instinct to want to do that.
