About this Art:
I got this idea on the Four Sixes ranch in Texas, after lunch, after morning round-up and branding. For dessert every body had cherry cobbler and I just thought it would be a good subject for a painting. We were camped under the shade of some big oak trees by a creek called Dixon Creek. The spurs on the cowboy on the right, if you look close, you can see four “6’s” engraved in metal on the side of the spurs, which is the brand of the ranch. It was always nice to have a good dessert after a meal. It was usually some cobbler served in a great big dutch oven. On that particular day it just happened to be cherry cobbler.
