This painting shows the funny side of hunting. The bucks are close but they don’t even see them. The horse sees them, but the men probably never will. I’ve seen this happen and I’ve had it happen. You hear a noise behind you and hear them bound away. I’ve also seen hunters walk right past bucks. I was on the opposite hill, but I could see the bucks, and see the hunters, and they just walked right by.
