About this Art:
This is a depiction of a ranch in Colorado. One morning we were moving cattle from down in a lower basin or valley up to higher ground, and one of the cowboys I was riding with and another fellow stopped because their cinches were a little bit loose. They stopped to tighten their cinches and make sure everything was adjusted right. If you’re not paying attention to that you can get in a situation where your saddle might roll or slide when you don’t want to and get you in trouble. They’re just making some adjustments and checking to be sure everything is okay in the middle of the morning drive. Something you do to stay on top of things, check every now and then and make sure everything is where it’s supposed to. This particular scene we were moving cattle for the Double-RL.
