The mountain men had a saying when something was happy or good or joyful in some way. They called it “shinin’ times”, a shortened version of shining times. When they were talking about good times they called them shinin’ times. To depict this, I picked a moment in the evening when the sun had just about gone down and the setting sun glows on the mountains just before it sets. That glow is called alpenglow. There’s some alpenglow to depict the shinin’ times. It’s a great time because these mountain men haven’t seen each other for a long time. Their indian wives haven’t seen each other for a long time. They’re happy their paths crossed and that they’re alive and healthy.
